Looking Older
Most people say they feel (or don’t feel) older after a birthday but I apparently look older. Having always looked younger than my age i’m regularly mistaken for a teenager. The most insulting was when a volunteer at my school thought I was essentially in the class that I teach. I’m like, do I really look 12 to you??? But that wasn’t the only time. I get ID’d for R rated movies. Only a few years ago I was offered a kid’s menu at a restaurant and you can forget buying alcohol. But last week I went out and wasn’t ID’d at the bar! I was very excited. Fluke I thought. Then today the grocery store was offering wine samples. Bingo, no ID requests!! I was very excited! I guess this means i’m finally looking my age.
This might bother some people.
But I couldn’t be happier! 🙂
