Pregnancy is Like a Roller Coaster

Don’t get me wrong, some roller coasters are a lot of fun. I’m just not a fan of them in general.

I don’t so much mean the emotional aspects of pregnancy either. That’s a given. But in the wee hours of the morning this morning, as I spent yet another night without being able to fall asleep, I started thinking about this analogy. Here are my thoughts:

*Sometimes you have to wait in line a really long time to get on the ride.
*As soon as you get on the ride, you realize just how scared you are of what is yet to come.
*Once the ride starts, you know there is no turning back.
*Some roller coasters make you feel like you’re going to puke.
*Some roller coasters give you a bad headache.
*Most roller coasters have parts that are quite enjoyable.
*Regardless of how much fun you’re having, you’re usually ready to get off before the ride ends.
*It always takes too long to get unstrapped from the coaster car. You’re just ready to get to the next ride already!
*When you look back and think about it, you usually want to do it again.

With just a few weeks left, I’m at the point of being ready to get off the ride. Just a few more hills to climb! 🙂
